Wow! What a fantastic weekend at MIR2010!

Rubberwilli here, posting an interim blog update as we transition from MIR2009 to MIR2010.

I would like to give a big shout out to Stephane Donaldson, MIR2009 for all of the work he has done this year to grow the Canadian rubber community and to attend events around the world. As Stephane acknowledged in his step down speech, he has grown so much over the course of the past year and he has represented the title of Mr. International Rubber amazingly well.

Now as for the weekend that was MIR2010, all I can say is WOW! I don't think we could have asked for anything to have gone better. Great attendance, guys in gear and bondage all weekend long, a packed house on both Friday and Saturday night, 7 amazing contestant to keep you eye on over the next few years, the return of GoGo Eddie as our emcee, a hugely expanded vendor market and an amazing venue in the Center on Halsted.

I have to give a shout out to Modesto Tico Valle, the executive Director of the Center on Halsted. All the concerns and worries about what the contest would be like in this new venue were quickly put to rest and the staff at the Center on Halsted were wonderful to work with. (I'm not sure how much work got done in the Center office on Friday as it looked like the entire staff was shopping and people watching in the market all day!)

Finally, in the first of what we hope will be an ongoing tradition, Mr. International Rubber was honored to present the Center on Halsted with a check for $2,500 which represents the proceeds from our Kink Market admissions from the weekend.

So in the very near future, you see your MIR2010 Fenn of Toronto, Canada posting his thoughts and experiences as MIR2010 in this blog.
