Greetings!
In this issue:
MIR2007 Contest Moves to Sunday!

We are pleased to announce that the Mr. International Rubber 2007 contest will move to a new day and time this year. The main portion of the contest will move from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon.
This schedule change allows MIR to pursue a larger contest venue which will be able to accommodate increased contestants and attendees in our 10 Anniversary year. This also allows us to move the Full Rubber Dress Code party to Saturday night in part of the time slot previous occupied by the contest.
The final contest location has not been selected, however, there are three venues of various size under consideration. All are a short distance from the Best Western Hawthorne Terrace, our host hotel. We will announce the final venue selection closer to the actual contest date and after we have a better grasp of our anticipated attendance this year!
We wanted to notify you, our regular attendees and insiders, so that you could make your travel plans accordingly. So join us for MIR the Tenth Anniversary Edition on Sunday November 12, and if you must leave on Sunday, catch a late flight out!
MIR Survey Results
Well you know our first survey result, a request for a new venue. You love the Cell Block, and so do we. The bar and staff have taken good care of us over the last nine years, but the rubber scene is growing. As much as we all love a our familiar shiny rubber gear, when it starts to grow a bulge.... sometimes you need someone to help you relieve the pressure! Special thanks to MIR owner Frank Blondale for being open to the idea of moving the contest to a larger venue.
We're doing our best to accomodate desires to grow the weekend while maintaining our intimate rubber fetish focus. But to accomplish this, we'll need you help. Get your reservations in early and recruit, recruit, recruit!
Speaking of reservations, we are hoping to have an online reservation services up and running in the next few weeks so that you don't have to worry about "snail mail" or international postal service to send in your weekend registration. There are just a few more things to iron out on that front. We'll keep you posted as things progress.
In the meantime, we'll have a downloadable form for those of you who want to send your registrations in ASAP or are just uncomfotable with online purchases.
You newbie's out there spoke of your concern about not knowing anyone at the contest weekend, or not being able to break into the scene. We have a few ideas fermenting in our waders that will help you meet people and break into the scene. I don't want to spoil it though, half the fun is in the s u s p e n s e. So you'll just have to show up and see what we have in store!
Lastly, you all want MORE VENDORS! We heard you loud and strong. Were looking into how we can accommodate more vendors for this years events. It's going to be difficult this year, but we're looking into every available space.
Only 10 Rooms Remain in the Host Hotel!
The Best Western Hawthorne Terrace has only 10 rooms left for MIR weekend, so if you haven't made your reservations yet, CALL NOW! Be sure to say, "I'm with Mr. International Rubber" or else they won't let you make a reservation.
We'll work on lining up our secondary hotel after the Best Western sells out, however, The Best Western is the closest hotel to the MIR events. So get on the phone and call now!
Website Updated
You'll see that the new pages are up and running with a tentative schedule of events, weekend package information, sponsorship guidelines and the new contestant application packages.
We've made some changes to our website as well this year. Those of you with a 56K modem line will enjoy that our revised website will not take so long to download. We're using more true text and less photo text this year. That should speed things up dramatically.
Additionally, the graphic at the top of this page is just one of the new web banners we have made to help promote for this years contest. Help us out by placing a banner on your home page and point your rubbery friends to www.MIRubber.com.
We've also designed un-dated banners that will last all year round, and are not specific to this years contest alone. Check out the website and let us know what you think!
MIR2007, The Tenth Anniversary Edition is going to be a great weekend of sweaty, shiny rubbery fun. We look forward to seeing you and your friends there. Stay tuned as we release more details about this years contest and reveal more surprises!
Sincerely,
William "Rubberwilli" Schendel
Weekend Coordinator, Mr. International Rubber
